Recently, new amendments to the UAE’s tourist visa policy were implemented, allowing travellers to extend their visas twice without leaving the country. Here’s what you need to know about tourist visa extensions in Dubai if you’re a visitor.

TOURIST VISA EXTENSION PROCESS IN DUBAI

The method for extending a tourist visa in Dubai is rather simple.

  • In Dubai, you can renew a tourist visa for 30 days twice.
  • Keep an eye on the initial extension’s expiry date.
  • Before the first renewal expires, apply for the second.

HOW TO APPLY IN DUBAI FOR A TOURIST VISA EXTENSION?

Here’s how to extend your tourist visa in Dubai:

GDRFA Application

  • Log in to the GDRFA app.
  • Navigate to the dashboard and select Dependent Visa Details.
  • Select the Renew Residence option.
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Choose a delivery method
  • Add documents
  • Send in the fee
  • Please wait for SMS/email confirmation.

Identity and Citizenship Federal Authority

  • Visit the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship’s web portal.
  • Enter your login information.
  • Include attachments
  • Submit an AED 600 fee and request an extension.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED IN DUBAI FOR VISA RENEWAL

To renew your visa, you must submit the following documents:

  • A certified copy of the applicant’s passport. Check that the passport has a minimum validity period of six months.
  • A passport-sized photograph on a white background

TOURIST VISA EXTENSION FEE IN DUBAI

Each time you renew, you will have to pay AED 600.

GRACE PERIOD FOR DUBAI TOURIST VISA EXTENSION

Overstayers who were unable to renew their tourist visas would be fined AED 100 per day they overstayed. The number of days will be computed starting 10 days following the visa’s expiration date.

EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENT FOR TOURIST VISA EXTENSION IN DUBAI

Some of the tourists in Dubai are an exception. They are not required to obey the regulation for the extension that others must follow. These are some examples:

  • citizens of GCC nations
  • special admission permits
  • Special mission 96-hour permit
