  • A letter of authorization from the appropriate authority
  • Academic certificates issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the employee’s native country

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a new rule on work permits. Men sponsored by their spouses can now obtain a work visa in the UAE under the new policy.

Reporting a Missing Domestic Employee

If an employee leaves without alerting the employer, MOHRE gives the employer the authority to report the issue.

The employer is required to submit documentation such as:

  • An original or duplicate of the employer’s legitimate identification card

Employers can also pay any fines imposed on domestic workers through MOHRE. Employers must have the following items in order to pay a fine:

  • A duplicate of the employer’s passport
  • An authentic valid ID card of the GCC employer/resident/investor
  • The employer’s original, legal ID card

MOHRE also oversees other work-related tasks. For example, the Ministry:

  • Changes or modifies a work permit

MOHRE issues the card within 7 working days after receiving your application. When the card expires, MOHRE renews it in the system without any further action.


MOHRE requests the following information in order to make a complaint about pay issues:

  • Employees of the company
  • Complete establishment report
  • Inspection reports from the past
  • Scheme for Establishment Location
  • A duplicate of the complaint
  • Report on wage payments from the Wages Protection System (WPS)

Salary concerns are normally resolved within 3 business days by MOHRE.


The service assists labourers in receiving money on behalf of the recipient.

Employees must have the following to receive this service:

  • Liquidation court decision
  • The legal team drafted a settlement instrument to liquidate the employer’s guarantee and permission.

To begin using the service, perform the procedures outlined below:

  • Submit the court letter to the Labour Relations Department, along with a bank guarantee in the labour’s favor.
  • In the absence of a judicial ruling, the bank guarantee will be triggered on the basis of the employer’s choice.

The conclusion is informed within 3 business days.


MOHRE also guarantees that employees are covered by their individual employers in the event of any occupational dangers. Employees must have the following qualifications to use this service:

  • Labour contract
  • Medical report from the Health Authority (Abu Dhabi) that determines the disability percentage.

Such inquiries are responded to within 5 business days.

MOHRE also inspects the workplace, responds to queries, and investigates complaints. Employers and employees can both file MOHRE complaints.



Twafouq acts as a go-between for companies and employees. It settles disputes between the two parties by responding to legal questions and analyzing the merits of their complaints. The fast-track MOHRE dispute centre, which has centers around the UAE, resolves labour concerns in 10 working days.


Tasheel is a MOHRE online system that aims to streamline payments and transaction processes for both companies and employees. Employers may use the government-backed system to fulfill a variety of tasks, such as applying for a labour card and work permit, submitting missing papers, and canceling an employment contract.

Tawseel is a network of mobile and innovative service centers that serve persons who, owing to personal or professional obligations, are unable to visit government offices. The Ministry has launched the National Program for Emiratisation (Tawteen), which allows UAE nationals to work in the private sector. This site can help anyone who has a citizen ID and is between the ages of 18 and 60.
